In 1977 Ronnie founded the first “all black” country band “The Country Scouts”, and enjoyed considerable success playing with Red Sovine and Sunday Sharp.
Ronnie left the music industry for a period of time and became involved in acting. He has appeared in such movies as “Buffalo Bill and the Indians” starring Paul Newman and Burt Lancaster, also
“Pure Escape” starring James Garner and Billie Dee Williams. He has also acted in numerous live theatre productions. Because of his entertainment oriented background, Ronnie was retained in the capacity of manager for the two of the largest and most successful night clubs in Western Canada.
Alas; Ronnie fell victim to his underlying desire... to sing and play Country Music! Since his return to the country stage he has appeared in concerts along with such greats as “The Killer” Jerry Lee Lewis,
Charlie Daniels, Tammy Wynette, Doug Kershaw, Johnny Rodrigues, Tommy Hunter and a host of others!
It is on stage before an audience, microphone in hand, that Ronnie feels most at home. His mature good looks compliment his warm expressive vocals. His years of experience enhance his friendly mannerisms.
Ronnie’s positive mental attitude, enthusiasm and desire coupled with his capacity for hard work certainly makes him a force to be reckoned with and is a crowd pleaser amongst all age groups wherever he performs. His unique vocal stylings and the strong back-up four part harmonies provided by his group certainly make him a leading candidate for stardom! He truly is “The Pride” of Canadian Country Music.
